After all that was said and done, Tottenham were potentially a little fortunate not to be beaten by Chelsea last time out. Didier Drogba’s last minute penalty could have cut Spurs seven points adrift of the Champions League places going into Christmas. The significance of Heurelho Gomes’ late penalty save could be massive at the end of the campaign.
Spurs fans were buoyed by chairman Daniel Levy’s promise that Gareth Bale will not be sold, and with a vastly powerful squad around him, Harry Redknapp’s men have a real chance of achieving some big things this season.
Blackpool keep surprising and keep grabbing points, so much so that even the most pessimistic Seasider will be confident of Premier League football next year.
Strangely, Ian Holloway’s men have not been fantastic at home, and whilst they will give themselves chances against a leaky Tottenham defence, opening up with the pace of Bale and Lennon coming the other way, can only end in one outcome.
Prediction: 1-3
