Both Tah and Colwill are left-sided centre-backs, yet it doesn't quite seem to be an either/or situation as Bayern look to strengthen their defensive depth and take into account possible summer departures of both Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano. Colwill made 32 appearances in his maiden season as a first-team with Chelsea following previous loans at Huddersfield Town and Brighton. The latter had been hoping for a permanent deal last summer, with reported interest also arriving from Liverpool.
