The France international is believed to be one of the players that the Red Devils are open to selling in January, despite assurances from Erik ten Hag that the club is not looking to offload the forward. Martial has just six months left on his current contract and there seems to be little inclination from United to activate their option to extend his deal by an additional 12 months, which has led to speculation over a potential transfer to Marseille.

According toLa Provence, Marseille are "frustrated" by the rumours linking them to Martial and have moved to distance themselves from the 28-year-old. Martial initially began his career in Ligue 1 back in 2012 at Lyon before moving to Monaco, where he established himself as one of the most promising young players in French football.
DID YOU KNOW?
Martial's recent performances have been under scrutiny as he has scored only twice in 19 games this season. In fact, he has not completed 90 minutes for United since January 27, 2021, when they lost 2-1 to Sheffield United at Old Trafford.

Martial's future is reportedly dependent on United's new minority shareholders INEOS, who will now oversee every major football decision, especially regarding transfers. Ten Hag could bring Martial back into the fold when the Red Devils will take on Wigan Athletic in an FA Cup third round on January 8, though he has been missing through illness in recent weeks and is no longer a regular starter under the Dutchman.
