da supremo: Sheffield Wednesday began life under Garry Monk in style, picking up a 2-0 victory over local rivals Huddersfield Town on their own ground.
Steven Fletcher opened the scoring after Kadeem Harris found him inside the six-yard box with a pinpoint cross before Barry Bannan dinked a ball into the path of substitute Sam Winnall to bag his first in an Owls shirt in over two years.
The win moves Wednesday into ninth, just one point off a top-six position.

Bannan captained the side in Tom Lees’ absence, which also meant that Dominic Iorfa played centre-back alongside August’s Player of the Month Julian Borner and several fans at Hillsborough have taken to social media to share their thoughts on his performance.
One supporter said the 24-year-old was in complete control whilst another labelled the performance as ‘solid throughout.’
That was the 6 foot 4 defender’s third appearance of the season in the Championship and second at centre-back, having also played at right-back, per Transfermarkt.
A further member of the Owls’ crowd said he should be renamed as ‘Dominant’ Iorfa after that performance.
